ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE
The uMngeni-uThukela Water Group consists of a parent entity with two (2) small subsidiaries.
The Executive Committee is the top management structure of uMngeni-uThukela Water Parent comprises of one Chief Executive and four Chief Officers (i.e. Chief Operating Officer, Group Chief Financial Officer, Group Chief Shared Services Officer and Group Chief Governance & Compliance Officer). The Group Company Secretary and the Chief Audit Executive are ex officio members of the Executive Committee. The Chief Executive guides the day-to-day activities of the entity with powers delegated to him by the Board.
With respect to the subsidiaries, uMngeni-uThukela Water has 100% shareholding in Msinsi Holdings SOC Ltd and Umgeni Water Services SOC Ltd.
The uMngeni-uThukela Water Group as at 30 June 2023 comprised:
- A head count of 1 343 employees;
- Revenue for the year of R4.9 billion with R1.2bn net surplus generated;
- Balance sheet asset value of R16.2bn with reserves totalling R13.2bn.

uMngeni-uThukela Water, a state-owned entity, is one of Africa’s most successful organisations involved in water management and is the largest supplier of bulk potable water in the Province of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
The organisation was established in 1974.
