Fraudsters are impersonating uMngeni-uThukela Water (UUW) and its employees using fake social media accounts, WhatsApp numbers and email addresses.
Protect yourself:
- Verify messages before responding – only trust official @uuw.co.za email addresses and verified communication channels.
- Never share confidential information or make payments based on unsolicited requests.
- If contacted about jobs, tenders or official UUW business, use only UUW’s official communication channels.
- Report fake profiles or suspicious activity immediately by taking screenshots and emailing info@uuw.co.za.
